Subject Matter is Jessica Eichman and Sarah Masen-Dark, an abstract painter, and a musician & potter. In 2020, fueled by the pandemic and ignited by the accompanying social movements, and an undeniable urgency for personal transformation, the two found themselves in parallel processes of personal excavation, examination, and healing. As the arcs of their lives began to clarify, they wanted to take a more active role in the construction of their paths forward. Journeys began to symbolize this new path, and walking was a way to embody the process of creating it. Subject Matter is the visual impression of that process.
